Abstract

Providing complementary breast milk is often inappropriate, with many parents giving complementary breast milk foods too early to babies less than 6 months old. This can cause bad impacts such as allergies, respiratory tract infections, and diarrhea which can inhibit growth and lead to nutritional problems. According to the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey, the prevalence of thinness, malnutrition, and stunting among toddlers in Banten Province is 7.0%, 14.2%, and 16.9%. This nutritional counseling was carried out in the Posyandu Dahlia work area on November 10 2023. The aim was to increase mothers' knowledge regarding complementary foods for breast milk. This type of activity uses quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. Counseling was carried out simultaneously with the distribution of leaflets. The clients who attended were 23 mothers with toddlers. It is hoped that this increase in information can be an effort to change healthy living behavior, especially providing complementary foods for breast milk to increase children's ideal body weight according to the growth curve.
