Jurnal Nusantara Madani greatly values the contributions of reviewers in ensuring the quality and integrity of the articles published. These guidelines are designed to assist reviewers in carrying out their duties effectively and ethically.

Reviewers' Responsibilities

  1. Contribution to Editorial Decisions: The reviews provided by reviewers assist the editor in making appropriate editorial decisions and may also help authors improve their manuscripts.
  2. Timeliness: Reviewers who feel unable to review a manuscript within the allotted time or feel unqualified to review the subject matter should promptly notify the editor and excuse themselves from the review process.
  3. Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review should be treated as confidential documents. They should not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
  4. Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively and constructively, with clear and supported criticism. Personal remarks or attacks on the authors are not acceptable.
  5. Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. They should also notify the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper they are personally aware of.

Review Process

  1. Acceptance of Review Assignment: Upon receiving an invitation to review, reviewers should promptly inform the editor whether they accept or decline the assignment, based on their ability to conduct an objective and timely review.
  2. Evaluating Manuscript Quality: Reviewers should evaluate the manuscript based on several aspects, including:
    • Originality: Does the manuscript present new ideas or research findings that have not been previously published?
    • Methodology: Is the research methodology used valid and clearly explained?
    • Readability: Is the manuscript well-written and well-structured?
    • Relevance and Contribution: Does the manuscript make a significant contribution to the relevant field of study?
    • Sources and References: Are the references used relevant and sufficient?
  3. Providing Feedback: Reviewers should provide clear, constructive, and specific feedback to the authors. Comments should help authors improve their manuscripts and provide clear guidance on what needs to be revised.
  4. Recommending a Decision: Reviewers should provide recommendations to the editor regarding the suitability of the manuscript for publication, which may include:
    • Accept without revision
    • Accept with minor revisions
    • Accept with major revisions
    • Reject

Ethical Review Standards

  1. Independence and Impartiality: Reviewers should review manuscripts impartially and without bias. They should avoid any conflicts of interest with the authors or the content of the manuscript.
  2. Avoiding the Use of Unpublished Information: Information or ideas obtained through the review process should be kept confidential and should not be used for personal gain.
